Tingling with anticipation

After a long, long time a movie preview produced goosebumps as I watched it.  I can hardly wait for November (and July) to roll around...

I've never been much of a fan of the Harry Potter movies because, to me, they could never recreate the magic of the books (which I absolutely adore).

However, I agree, this particular trailer seems pretty neat.
Though I am not sure if I would be tempted to go and watch it in a movie theater (DVD, maybe?).

On a different but somewhat related note... I can't believe how Shyamalan managed to butcher The Last Airbender; that one is my fav animated series. EVER!
And he basically choked it.
Sigh.
:-(

p.s. how come you did not review that...

L,
After the first HP movie I realized that I should treat the books and the movies as two separate entities. Since then, I've had no problems with the way the movies have been made, particularly since JK Rowling is actively involved with the movies and is whetting the changes. I totally agree with you that the magic of the books is entirely different from the movies. For example, I would have filmed the movies a lot differently but that's me, and I have no issues (on the whole) with what they have done with the movies with the possible exception to the way Michael Gambon plays Dumbledore.

I was traveling during the weekend when The Last Airbender was released and having read some of the negative press I decided to give the movie a skip. The preview did not get me too excited either. SFX-dominant action sequences bore me because of the lack of "weight" to the actions. A glaring example is in the Iron Man movies - for all the protection the suit accords, inside it is still a man, so he has to be breaking bones all the times considering some of the heights he falls from and walls he crashes into. But, oh well, I digress.
