Word play

No other quarterback in the NFL has as complete a command of the offense as Peyton Manning does. Playing for the same offensive coordinator and the same team for his entire career has a lot to do with the fact that he is free to call the offensive plays at the line of scrimmage.

Here's a short video of some of the odd things he says in the huddle and while audibling a play at the line. Pretty fun when you consider that every game tape of his is screened for any signals the opposition can pick up on.

Let the records show that while Peyton Manning is a stats machine, he has only one SB ring to show. Lucky to have that - else he would be dwelling in the same limbo occupied by Dan Marino.

Manning is not even the greatest QB of his own generation. Mr Brady's team won the SB thrice, was beaten by the proverbial whisker in a 4th (not a 14 point drubbing like Mr Manning endured this evening) and Mr Brady's team also went unbeaten till that Super Bowl in a season in which Tom Brady was the MVP.

Peyton Manning's team chickened out of going for the perfect season long before the end - and given that they came so very short in the big game, it means he is just not as good as his illustrious contemporary.

Forget about calling him the GOAT or any such.
