Pictures are said to be as expressive as a 1000 words of prose. Some of the photos in this collection tell stories of epic proportions. Awe-inspiring and sobering at the same time, these photos are from a world far-away and yet so disturbingly close to each one of us. Afghanistan has been, for as long as we know, in the cross-hairs of armed conflict. I wonder whether it will ever return to a semblance of normalcy. And what exactly constitutes "normalcy" anyway?
We should never take our good fortune for granted.
